Hi, I’m Britta, the creative force behind By Britta, where my love for design, fashion, and individuality comes to life. 

 

My journey began at the age of 16 when I was discovered by the iconic June Dally Watkins. Under her mentorship, I learned not only the art of modelling but also the importance of always carrying myself with grace and authenticity.

 

For five incredible years, I traveled the world doing what I love, discovering fashion, design, and the wonders of art galleries, people, and cultures across the globe. Returning home to Sydney, I channeled this inspiration into my own streetwear label, Sassy, where I became one of the first to up-cycle vintage 1940s bedspreads into bold, unique fashion pieces. This passion for turning something old into something fresh and new still drives me today, 30 years later.

 

Balancing creativity and adventure, I later joined an airline as a flight attendant, blending my love for fashion and travel. From high fashion runways to exploring the world’s hidden corners, I’ve been fortunate to experience the best of both worlds.

Today, I’m a proud mum of six—three girls and three boys—living on the water on Sydney’s North Shore. My surroundings, from the serene beauty of the harbour to the energy of a thunderstorm, inspire everything I do. Whether it’s crafting bespoke pieces, collaborating with brands through content creation and modelling, or simply connecting with people, my ethos remains the same: be authentic, treat others with kindness, think outside the box, and always lead by example.
